About Pakwanpedia

A guide to the regional food of India, written for people who cook at home.

Pakwanpedia covers the food of India region by region: what each state and city is known for, recipes for the dishes people actually make at home and at festivals, and a Pantry guide to the spices and staples behind them.

How we write

We use AI tools to gather facts and draft pages, and people to check them. Facts are collected from published sources and checked a second time by an independent search; anything we can't confirm is left out. The text itself is written fresh from those facts, never copied from another site.

Every page is read by an editor before it is published. Pages that mention traditional or home-remedy uses are also reviewed by a qualified expert, whose name appears on the page.

Photos

We use our own photos, AI-generated images, and photos with a licence that allows reuse. Licensed photos are credited on the page where they appear.

Who runs Pakwanpedia

Pakwanpedia is run by the Pakwanpedia team from Noida, NCR. We started it because the recipes for India's regional dishes are scattered across videos, family notebooks and long blog posts, and the ingredients behind them are rarely explained. We wanted one place where you can see what a state or city is known for, cook it at home, and understand what goes into it.
